I am looking at either renting a gaming server or building one. What would you like to see? I am looking for one that can host Garry's Mod, Civilization 5 Pitboss, X-Wing vs Tie Fighter currently.

Most of the sites sell dedicated slots at a low price ($1 per slot for most games). I'm looking around to see if I can just rent a server and turn on / off components as needed.

For Civilization 5 or Starbound or Terraria, it would get us a persistent server that we can always connect to and do things. Something we can show off also.

For Garry's Mod or other Multiplay games, my hope is to get it so that the server isn't choppy and we can play our games without issues (also making the process of connecting to the server and playing games faster). I can also customize the server to keep whatever we like on it.

I'll look at the Tabletop Sim dedicated server.
